Aluminium Window Shutter Systems

An aluminium window shutter is a protective rolling system mounted in front of a window or door opening, opened and closed with polyurethane-filled aluminium slats. It provides thermal insulation, security, noise control, privacy and light management, and runs manually, motorised or fully automatic with sensors.

What are Aluminium Window Shutter?

The aluminium window shutter is a rolling system that protects window openings in residential and commercial buildings from external elements. Double-skin aluminium slats are filled with polyurethane foam, significantly reducing solar heat gain in summer and heat loss in winter. It can be operated manually, by motor or automatically with sensors.

The mounting type is chosen according to the building stage: surface-mounted (external) shutters for existing buildings, concealed (wall-recessed) shutters for new construction, or monobloc shutters integrated into the window frame. All types can be operated manually, by motor or automatically with sensors.

Motorised and automatic options take comfort to the next level with remote control, wall switches, timers, sun and wind sensors and smart home integration.

Benefits of Aluminium Window Shutter

The features that make a difference on site and are asked about most during surveys.

Thermal insulation
Polyurethane-filled slats keep rooms cool in summer and cut heat loss in winter.
Security
A closed shutter forms a second barrier in front of the window, making forced entry harder.
Noise control
Double-skin slats and seals reduce outside noise.
Privacy and light
Light and view control by adjusting the slat gaps.
Smart automation
Automatic control through sensors, timers and smart home scenes.
20+ colours
A wide colour range to match the façade and window frames.

Where are Aluminium Window Shutter used?

Aluminium Window Shutter are used in 6 different applications, including homes and apartments, villas and detached houses, housing developments, offices and commercial buildings, high-level windows, smart homes. On every project, opening size, frequency of use and security requirements are assessed on site during the survey; the system is then made to measure and installed by our own crews.

Homes and apartments
Insulation and security for existing windows with surface-mounted shutters.
Villas and detached houses
Architectural harmony with concealed or automatic shutters.
Housing developments
Fast, standardised installation with the monobloc system.
Offices and commercial buildings
Central control and solar management with motorised shutters.
High-level windows
Comfortable operation of hard-to-reach windows with motorised drive.
Smart homes
Fully automatic shutters with sensors and scenes.

How to choose the right aluminium window shutter

A poorly chosen system means early failures, high energy costs or security gaps. Choosing the right aluminium window shutter depends on opening size, daily frequency of use, security and insulation requirements, motor and automation type, and budget. Consider the points below when deciding; we finalise them together during the site survey.

  1. 1

    Building stage

Surface-mounted for existing buildings; concealed or monobloc for new builds.

  2. 2

    Control level

Manual, motorised or sensor-based automatic — depending on comfort needs.

  3. 3

    Window size

For wide openings, 55 mm slats and a more powerful motor are preferred.

  4. 4

    Façade aesthetics

A concealed shutter is recommended if the box should not be visible.

How we work: from site survey to service

The process has four steps: free site survey, design and quotation, manufacturing and installation, and service. We send a price quote within 1 hour on average after your survey request. The approved system is made to measure at our facility in Tuzla, Istanbul, installed and commissioned by our own crews, and supported by scheduled maintenance and a 24/7 breakdown line.

  1. Site survey

Measurements are taken on site; usage intensity, electrical infrastructure and floor conditions are recorded.

  2. Design and quotation

Series, motor and accessories are selected; the quote is itemised and includes installation.

  3. Manufacturing and installation

Made to measure at our Tuzla facility and installed by our own installation crews.

  4. Service

Commissioning and user training, followed by scheduled maintenance and a 24/7 breakdown line.

Aluminium Window Shutter: frequently asked questions

If your question is not answered here, ask us by phone or on WhatsApp.

What is the difference between surface-mounted, concealed and monobloc window shutters?

A surface-mounted shutter is retrofitted to existing windows and its box is visible on the façade. A concealed shutter has its box recessed into the wall cavity. A monobloc shutter has its box integrated into the window frame. Concealed and monobloc shutters show no box from outside. Monobloc or concealed shutters are preferred for new buildings, and surface-mounted shutters for existing buildings.

What is the difference between motorised and automatic window shutters?

A motorised shutter runs on a tubular motor and is operated by remote control or switch. An automatic shutter is a motorised system with added sun and wind sensors, timers and smart home integration; it is a control level, not a mounting type. An existing motorised shutter can be upgraded to automatic operation by adding sensors and a smart module.

Can a manual window shutter be converted to motorised?

Yes. A suitable tubular motor can be fitted to the barrel of an existing manual shutter to convert it to motorised operation; in most cases the box does not need replacing. The motor torque is matched to the shutter weight, and a remote control or wall switch is added; a smart home module can also enable phone control. The conversion takes about 1–2 hours per window.

How long does window shutter installation take?

Installing a single window shutter usually takes 3–4 hours, and most homes are completed within half a day. Projects with 10+ shutters follow a planned site schedule. For concealed and monobloc shutters, installation is scheduled around the shell construction or window-fitting stage; for motorised systems, having the electrical supply ready in advance shortens the process.

What affects the price of a window shutter?

Window size, slat type, mounting method, and motor and sensor options determine the price. Because shutters are made to measure, a project-based quote is given after receiving photos or carrying out a site survey. Motorised and sensor-controlled systems cost more than manual shutters, but they offset the difference over time through comfort and energy savings.
